Returners Camp was last week, and we had decent turnout! Alison, Katie, Anna, Mary Grace, Margaret, Madison, Julie, Annie, Meghan, Caroline P, and Cameron came out from last year's team. Emily (rising 7th) and Lani (rising 9th) also joined us!
We worked on chip shots, drag flicks, and short corner plays. We also did a lot of scrimmaging and took a trip to 711 one day to shake things up! Friday, due to uncertain weather conditions, we practiced our indoor skills at the SGHS gym. Everyone got in a lot of playing time!
Alison and Katie were the only two seniors that came out! They came with great attitudes and a lot of hope for the fall season. They showed us exactly what to expect from top Varsity players!
Anna, Mary Grace, and Margaret were the three juniors at camp. They showed us awesome chip shots, great stick skills, and a bunch of blocked goals!
Madison, Julie, Annie, Meghan, Caroline P, and Cameron were the six sophmores at camp. The sophmores have proven to be very loyal to hockey events, including indoor, spring league, and the other camps this summer. I really appreciate their commitment!
This week is our Conditioning Camp, so please come out and get in shape with us! We will be working hard, but will start out lighter the first day and gradually work our way up! This will be the last camp of the month. The very last camp to get in shape and up your skills before tryouts is August 3-7th! We already have about 30 people signed up for that camp! Don't forget that tryouts are in 3 weeks!!
