Pope J.P. the Great School @ SGHS, 4-1 Victory!
JV Game Ends in a 0-0 Tie!

The Gator Varsity Team clenched their third victory in a row! The team welcomed back center midfielder, Mullen ('11) as she came back with a bang to score 3 goals in a row off of corners! The team was the strongest they have been all season in the first half of the game, exhibiting strong and smart passes, shot after shot on goal, and a knack for causing fouls at all the right times. Shots on the Pope John Paul goalie were taken by senior captain Zacharias ('10), Mullen ('11), Curtin ('12), and Caudill ('12). If the ball came anywhere near our side of the field, our defenders, McSweeney ('10), Harlan ('11), and Budi ('12), were there to carry it out. In the second half, Pope J.P. School scored their first goal of the game. It was Donovan #2, assisted by Boer #16 who made it happen. Beach ('10) fought back to score the last goal of the game, assisted by Zacharias ('10). The Gator Team played a smart game and ended in 4-1 victory!

The JV Game ended up as a scrimmage between the JV Gators and Pope John Paul's 2nd string Varsity members. The JV Gators fought hard in their first game! They had a ton of shots on goal, but just couldn't get it past Pope John Paul's Varsity goalie (who blocked at least 10+ Varsity shots). The JV Gators showed us that their defense is a force to be reckoned, their midfield is just about the most aggressive we've seen in years, and their offense is just itching for that first goal! Lookout for these girls in the future!

Tomorrow the Gator Varsity Team goes on to Fredericksburg to play Fredericksburg Academy at 4:15pm, the first LIS game of the season!
